We have a very small Purok here in Bacolod City and every February we celebrate our Fiesta in a simple but generous way. I am not bragging but I think we are one of the few, if not the only one here in Bacolod City that have salo salo sponsored by our community leaders. In the morning around 9am, we have this mass in our small chapel. The mass lasts for an hour and most of us do attend and listen to the priest’s sermon.
While others are in the chapel, others are preparing the food for all of us. Since that our Purok is known for selling Lechon (Roast Pig) of course the star of the menu is Lechon and most of the food are pork. This year we have Linaga na Tiil ka Baboy ( Pig’s feet in sour soup) Native Chicken Tinola, Chopsuey and Chicken Adobo
After the mass we gather in the backyard of one of the house here, every year different homeowners allow us to use their backyard and i am so glad that we have this type of neighborhood because we have a small community we do not have a place for us to gather to eat. children are given a different spot to eat boodle fight style since that they like to play around always.
After lunch we all go back to our homes doing the same routine again ( Me i am working as a home based chat support agent), all are smiling and happy because again we have a very simple and generous Fiesta Celebration.
I wiss we also have that here
